For the past couple of years, we've been documenting Native-American Thong Trees as we find them during our "explorations" of the county. A few weeks ago, while riding to Boswell along the Jumbo Road (CR10), we noticed this example just off the road in a hollow above Boswell. The tree points towards Mill Creek and a deep wash which forms several shelters along its watershed.
These living relics are only just now being studied as their importance to our understanding of ancient life on this continent is realized.

Sadly, many people are unaware of just what these trees represent and they are often destroyed. In fact, only two weeks ago, we found one of the most interesting examples we've come across lying on the ground next to its stump where a landowner had cut it down.
