Izard-Stone County Traverse!

Jim (Newburgian) and I took the "Grand Tour" from Melbourne to Sylamore/Allison, on to Calico Rock, and back to Melbourne today. Along the way, we visited the Livingston Cemetery (site of Asa Jeffery's Grave)and the Optimus Cemetery (where Doc Fleming, the noted doctor who once practiced out of Boswell's "Bleeding House" and who was struck by a train and killed in 1934). We threw a video together so you could join us from the comfort of your Living-Room or Den!

Hope you enjoy the ride!

There is an old Jeffery cemetery south of the Livinston cemetery on the banks of the river that has some Mt.Olive pioneers buried there. Miles Jeffery being one of them.
This cemetery has been severely damaged by years of neglect and flood waters.
Some of we decendents of Miles have been trying for some time to get this cemetery fenced for cattle in the field have had free range to trample. So far our fund is small.
If you would like to visit this cemetery contact me and i will give directions.
